Our group is aimed at people in their 20s to 40s who enjoy walking, outdoor activities, and socializing. Although we are predominately a Barnsley based group we have members from around the South Yorkshire region and offer regular events in surrounding areas such as Sheffield, Doncaster and Rotherham, as well as walks that are further afield and weekends away.

Welcome to the GnB It Fell Race. This 25K race is run under FRA regulations and offers a great mixed terrain fell race. Race HQ is Langsett Barn Langsett Barn, Langsett, Stocksbridge, South Yorkshire, S36 4GY Grid Ref SE 210 004. View location on google maps. There is free parking at race HQ and nearby. Registration will open at 8. The race is in support of Woodhead Mountain Rescue Team and ALL profits go to the team.

Unlike other European countries, Mountain Rescue Services within the UK are free of charge, available to all and provided by well trained volunteers who are called out by and assist the police. The Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team averages between 25 and 30 incidents a year totalling about 1000 hours of search and rescue provision for West Yorkshire Police and assistance for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

Kendal Mountain Search and Rescue Team. Every hour of every day. The team is on call 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, including Christmas, whatever the weather. Kendal MSRT is funded entirely from donations. It costs around 50,000 per year to run the team. Since 1953, Kendal Mountain Search and Rescue team has been searching for and helping those in difficulty. The team has 2 Land Rovers, 1 Toyota Hilux and a Renault forward response vehicle.

Great race - thanks everybody - News. The Trigger Race will run for the seventh time on Sunday 14th January 2018. Entrants will navigate their way from Marsden over Black Hill, Bleaklow and Kinder to Edale visiting three trigs points on route. The linear route is measured at 20 miles with 4500 feet climb. After what has proved to be an extremely busy year on business, and hence far away from these Northern trails, it was with extreme hope, probably above expectation, coupled with a certain amount of trepidation that I arrived at the start line of the running of The Crosses 53.

Our members are into trad, sport, alpine, bouldering, Scottish winter and everything in between. The group is mixed with an equal gender balance.
